The Diocesan Youth at Ratagan

The Diocesan Youth enjoyed a weekend away on the West Coast. On Friday 20 November two bus loads of Diocesan Youth set off for Ratagan Youth Hostel returning on Sunday 22 November. What follows is an account written by two of the delegates.

Ratagan Youth weekend!!

After arriving…
Sue told us where we were sleeping and we got settled and unpacked! Then we went down to do introductions and Evening Prayer. We also had leek and tattie soup. Bed time arose and on came the Parties!!!

Saturday Morning 8:00-8:30
Breakfast, Porridge, yoghurts, Cereal and Bacon rolls. After Breakfast Jane and Mark set off and we did Morning Prayer. We got ready for what Alison called a short Walk!!
Then we had Lunch being sandwiches, fruit and Crisps. We set off on the mini busses. Then arrived at walk finding it was shut (grr). Plan B Alison came up with another plan Walk to the Broch (Short…). We set off and after about 2 miles we got to the Broch (very scaffolding covered). We looked around had a photo and then set off back to the buses. It rained as it always does. We got back to the buses then went to the shop (hurray sweets!). We bought our sweets and then went back to the hostel.
We arrived back and had some free time before dinner then did some singing. We sung the song “Love the lord your God” Then we did crafts and played cards. After that we did Evening Prayer then went to Bed. Another Party erupted (joking)!

Sunday Morning
In the morning an early rise because all the rooms had to be emptied and cleaned! Once we had finished that we headed off in the mini buses to Nostie Church.  There was a confirmation and at the end we sang them our song.
We had Lunch In a hotel and then the Long journey home stopping at Inverness, Forres and eventually Elgin!!
We had a fabulous weekend thank you all the leaders!!!!
