Dear All,

I write to invite you to the next meeting of the Synod on Saturday 11th February in the Church Hall of St. James, Dingwall. The meeting will begin with the Eucharist at 9.45pm followed by coffee and the Synod business. We will close the meeting by 1pm at the latest. Facilities for making drinks will be available after the meeting for any who wish to make use of them before departing.

Whilst Lay Representatives and Clergy are being notified personally of these meetings it must be stressed that they are open to all members of our congregations so do please spread the word and encourage others to attend. I enclose a simple poster to help with publicity.

One of the main items on the Agenda will be a session on ministry with children led by the Rev Alan Price. Other items for discussion may be sent from the Diocesan office and I will inform you nearer the time of these. Can I also ask members to come with ideas for a social event to be held later in the year?

To help with planning it will be useful to have an indication of numbers attending. If you do not wish to attend could you please send apologies? Perhaps clergy with charge (or lay representatives if there is an interregnum) could let me know if there are people hoping to attend other than lay representatives and clergy? Also if there has been a change in the lay representative for a charge could the papers please be passed on and could I please be notified of the new contact details?

I look forward to meeting with many of you on the 11th.
