On Saturday 25th September St Maelrubha’ Church, Poolewe, organised an evening of Music and Song In aid of Help for Heroes..
Among the very large attendance was the H4H co-ordinator for the Highlands,  and serving members of the Army and RAF.
The service personnel were piped into the Hall by two local Pipers, with a Guard of Honour provided by Cadets from 832 (WESTER ROSS)Sqn ATC.  They later provided some musical entertainment from their newly formed band , which was performing in public for the first time.
A host of local musicians and vocalists kept the audience enraptured throughout the evening and in the spirit of Music Hall the large attendance were in good voice, joining the performers in a rendition of wartime favourites.  Rev Heather was in fine voice with her version of Raggle Taggle Gypsy , accompanied by Roisin and Carole on their Harps.
As with all good things and much too quickly, time overtook us and before the Band played the last number , ( Show me the way to go home) it was announced that the evening had raised in excess of £1850.00 for the H4HH charity.
Cheques were presented to Bishop Mark the following morning, during service in St Maelrubha’s Church.
