The happy band who attended the Training Day
Saturday 17 October saw a large gathering of Sacristans and interested others gather at St Andrew’s Fortose to take part in an interesting and stimulating presentation by Father Mel on Altar Guild and Sacristy Issues.
This was the invitation to the day -
Stewardship of our churches’ treasures .... of course the church’s real treasures are the likes of you and me!!!
BUT
We have been entrusted with many things that add beauty and dignity to our offering of worship to the Most Holy Trinity…
Frontals....chasubles....stoles....ciboria....burses....veils....dalmatics......thuribles....corporals & purificators…
and many other bits and bobs we are not even sure we know what they are!!!!
What the heck is a maniple? Is there a Loch Ness Monstrance? Is it really possible to cope without a cope?
There really is a correct way to fold a corporal!!! but perhaps not the military variety!!!
Everyone who attended throughly enjoyed the day. Do keep an eye on the website for details of future Training opportunities of this kind.
